Twin daughters born on January 8, 1868. Both died of cholera infantum, Katey on August 11, 1868 and Joanna the next day.
Cholera Infantum particularly inflicted children in the summer. It would present almost the same as to dysentery, the most prominent symptom would be diarrhea and vomiting. Causes could include unhygienic living conditions, contaminated milk or water, and consumption of indigestible substances.
