Description:
Henry Fairfield Osborn gives the name Tyrannosaurus rex to the tyrannosaurid found in Wyoming and names the specimen from Montana Dynamosaurus imperiosus before recognizing them to be the same species in 1906. In 1917, Osborn draws the connection between Manospondylus and Tyrannosaurus, although by that time Cope's vertebrae had already been lost.Added to timeline:
