jan 1, 1433 - Francios Rabelais writes Gargantua and Pantagruel
Description:
François Rabelais was a French writer known for satirical and grotesque plays and novels. He was a very free thinker, and this manifested in his novels.
His series of books, Gargantua and Pantagruel, follow the stories and adventures of two giants. The novels are written in an amusing satirical vein, with a lot of vulgarity and wordplay. This was all contrary to the writings of other writers and poets at the time, something that made Rabelais a very outgoing writer, and the steps he took set up the way future generations would write obscure comedy.
