Description:
The right to vote, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have the right to vote. In some states prior to 1901, were able to vote but was soon rejected and not allowed to do so after the constitution was enacted. By 1962, indigenous people gain the right to vote in federal elections. Only by the end of 1965 do all indigenous people across the country get to vote in federal elections.
