Dr Martin Luther King Jr was an African American clergyman and civil rights leader that was assassinated by James Earl Ray. Shot outside his second story room balcony at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee at 6:01 PM on the 4th of April 1968. He was killed in one shot from a Remington rifle, Ray, the assassinator, was shortly seen running after taking the shot from a rooming house across the street. A package was abandoned close to the site with his fingerprints on it. His assassination had called for large action to take place but his death was fate of other civil rights activists before, during and after his time.
