dec 1, 1955 - Rosa Parks Bus Boycott

Description:

A significant figure known globally was Rosa Parks, who had not given up her seat on the bus to a white man during a time of heavy segregation laws that stated she had to do so. She was a civil rights activist of the United States but is now dubbed as the mother of civil rights. This bus boycott had lasted 13 months ending only at the US Supreme Court. This boycott had ignited the fight for racial equality again in Montgomery. She had later received the Congressional gold medal of honour due to her part in the civil rights movement.
