Of the hundreds of Dakota people who didn't fight in the war, 303 are convicted of murdering settlers, 264 are given a sentence by Abraham Lincoln, Then, he kills 39 of them by hanging. One man is saved just before the sentencing is carried out. 38 men were hanged at Mankato on December 26, 1862.
