Description:

The very first case of the Civil Rights Movement was in the 50s and 60s as an 8-year-old African American girl was denied attendance in an all-white elementary school. Linda Brown had gone to the school in Topeka, Kansas, so after being denied, her father had taken the case to court. Earl Warren, Chief Justice, concluded that segregated schools were unequal. Stating that this case was against the 14th Amendment.
