CAUSES
- Hereward the wake came back from exile to find out that his land had been completely taken over by Normans

EVENTS
- Hereward joined up with some of King Sweyn's soldiers and raised a local monastery
- Morcar came to work with Hereward and the Danes until 1071
- They lost the battle

OUTCOMES
- Morcar is imprisoned for the rest of his life
- Hereward the Wake ran away
