Sibley tries to get Little Crow to negotiate a settlement but Little crow is not ready to quit. Sibley demands surrender. Little Crow refuses. Sibley's troops moved up to Wood lake where the Dakota were camping. Early the next morning the soldiers stumbled over the Dakota and the last battle of the Dakota war was underway. This battle ended in defeat for the Dakota.
