"General Augusto Pinochet, dictator of Chile from 1973 to 1990, has been arrested at a London hospital on charges of murder. Two Spanish judges are seeking his extradition to Spain and the National Court in Madrid will deliberate on the matter tomorrow.

The arrest late on Friday by the Metropolitan Police followed a request via Interpol from judges investigating the death of hundreds of Spaniards at the hands of the military regimes of Chile and Argentina in the 1970s and 1980s"
