jan 1, 1134 - Hugh of Jaffa's Revolt
Description:
Hugh of Jaffa, along with the lord of the Oultrejourdain, openly rebelled against the rule of Fulk. They allied themselves with the Fatimid city of Ascalon, leading Fulk to march on Jaffa and besiege the city. Hugh's vassals and garrison soon deserted him and he was sent into exile. While waiting for a ship to transport him to Italy, he was attacked and severely wounded by a knight. Hugh succumbed to his wounds soon after, but many suspected Fulk of ordering his assasination.
