jun 15, 1099 - Capture of Jerusalem
Description:
The Crusaders divided themselves into two large groups to assault the city from multiple fronts. However, the lack of material for siege equipment led to the failure of their first attack. Dwindling supplies and news of an incoming Fatimid army forces the Crusaders into a difficult position. The arrival of English and Genoese fleets at Jaffa brought materials and engineers to construct siege equipment, soon allowing the Christian army to storm Jerusalem.
