On Thursday 12/05/2022, Captrain and HDF Energy (Hydrogène de France) formalized a collaboration on the development of a hydrogen shunting locomotive.

The first step of this collaboration is the launch of the "HyShunt" project, which involves retrofitting an existing 700kW diesel locomotive with green (or low-carbon) H2, via a high-powered fuel cell system manufactured and integrated by HDF Energy. This locomotive will be used for logistics operations on industrial sites.
