Description:

Operation Barbarossa (Aug 25 1942- Feb 2 1943): Germany’s plan originally was to conquer Russia by invading Moscow before winter; however those plans were thwarted as unprecedented cold weather affected the soldiers. The Panzer army lost this battle because they were not equipped with the proper uniform for winter, and rains and mud were another liability because they ruined the German tanks and further movement was very difficult.
