jul 11, 2073 - Valiant arrives in Sol system
Description:
Valiant arrives home after 10 years on mission.The crew is relieved by a maintenance crew waiting for them in the recently finished Earth Space Dock Alpha. The XO J. Ramirez relieves the CO C. Gentzler, who is promoted to Commodore.
Her maintenance crew conduct a complete overhaul of the primary systems, and refit the reactors, capacitor banks, and batteries. The work results in a speed increase to Wf1.775. She is also refitted with a second, dorsal laser turret for deflector plot clearing duty, and main computer core upgrade.
A new prototype weapon is equipped for testing, the Photonic Rail Gun is mounted in a recessed bay on the port and starboard side of the of the Primary hull.
She is cleared to leave drydock after 6 months. Her mission crew relieves the maintenance crew on 20 Dec 2073 and departs for A. Centauri the next day.
