Description:

Henry Cole persuaded Prince Albert to make an international exhibition to expose British design to foreign competition.
It was opened by Queen Victoria.
The exhibition took place in the Crystal Palace build by Joseph Paxton (greenhouse builder) just for The Great Exhibition.
