jan 1, 1963 - Malcolm X
Description:
Unlike MLK, Malcolm X and his following believed that the only way to combat white violence against black people was to return the violence to them. This led to the creation of militia groups like the Black Panthers. Malcolm was an influential figure in the civil rights movement and also practiced Islam which, ironically, preached peace. He believed violence was the only way to get what black people wanted.
