Description:
Industrialization gave birth to the factory and in order to keep the workers within walking distance of their jobs, the factory town was created. The families who lived in factory towns were very poor and had to send their daughters to work in factories in order to get more money for the family. Women, at the time, were also paid less for their work just because the factory owners could without consequence.
