Description:
Although the Civil Rights movement played a part in American domestic policy, the Cold War had the greatest effect on American foreign and domestic policy in the mid to late 20th century because it caused America to be focused on how it appeared to other countries, it led to the expenditures of large amounts of government funds to accomplish Cold War related goals, and it got the US involved in multiple wars.
