feb 15, 1946 - The ENIAC - First programmable general purpose computer.

Description:

 The ENIAC, short for Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer was the first programmable general purpose electronic digital computer, invented by John Mauchly and J. Presper Eckert. It was first started building in 1943 and was finished building by 1946. The ENIAC used plugboards for programming and ran at electronic speed. The machine was enormous and could fill a 20 by 40-foot room. It could add about 5000 numbers in seconds, however, it would take days to reprogram the ENIAC for each new problem.
