The first computer to be made was a programmable computer known as the Z1, by Konrad Zuse from Germany. It is considered to be the first modern and functional computer. It was designed between 1935 – 1936 and finished building in 1938. The Z1 was known to contain many parts of a modern computer such as a control unit, memory, input/output devices etc. However, the Z1 was later destroyed in the bombardment of Berlin in 1943 during the second world war.Added to timeline:
