- John Quincy Adams, Henry Clay, and Andrew Jackson- Adams became the president because Jackson lacked the majority of the electoral votes which required the House to determine the president
- Adams was appointed with Clay’s influence in the House
- Adams appointed Clay as his secretary of state
- Jackson accused Adams and Clay of making a “corrupt bargain”
