- The Big Three conference again in Yalta and agreed to:
- Allies would divide Germany into occupation zone. Germany lose 1/4 to Poland and Soviet Union as their boundaries were moved west.
- Liberated countries of Eastern Europe would hold free election
- Soviet entered the war with Japan
- Soviet control half of Sakhalin Island and Kuril Island and Manchuria
- Countries meet in San Francisco for a new peace organization
