A chief that had disputes with both kings of England and Scotland. In the end he switched his loyalties with England.
When Argyll was defeated by King Robert of Scotland, and SIr Alexander's titles were removed by the King , he forfeited as chief and joined his son Sir John in exile.
He had served as Chief for 44 years.
