Description:
The SNCC was an interracial civil rights group that was founded in Raleigh, NC and staged many sit-ins across the south. They supported Freedom Rides, the March on Washington, and the Civil Rights Act of 1964. They became more militant in the mid to late 1960s with the rise of the black power movement and the Black Panther Party.
