Description:

(Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Lucretia Mott holds the first Women's Rights convention)

This was the birthplace of American feminism, it was called The Declaration of Sentiments because it integrated the words "woman" and "women" in "The Declaration of Independence." as much as addressing very many grievances and unfair treatments and injustices when it came to women's rights and position in society; such as the inability to vote or the or the difficulty of gaining custody in a divorce and much more.

Hosted by both Elizabeth Cady Stanton and abolitionist Lucretia Mott when they met at an Anti-Slavery convention, but were not permitted to go inside and were forced to stay outside. Eventually becoming great friends, they vowed to make a Woman's Rights convention, and as vowed; The Declaration of Sentiments was held eight years later, in the Wesleyan Chapel of the town of Seneca Falls, in New York.
