mar 5, 1946 - Iron Curtain Speech
Description:
Winston Churchill made a speech at Westminster College in Fulton Missouri that made the term "Iron Curtain" a household name. It also crystalized for all that didn't already know that America was already in the Cold War. The Iron Curtain is what Churchill called the string of Communist countries between the USSR and the rest of Europe. These provided a buffer zone between Western Europe and the USSR and made it very difficult to take any actions against them.
