Description:

Following contact, the Beothuk's numbers swiftly declined as a result of European invasion, slaughter, and diseases to which they had no natural resistance. Shawnadithit, the last known Beothuk, died of Tuberculosis in St. John's in June 1829. They have been killing these peoples since the 1700's over disputes of fishing in the Newfoundland, Nova Scotia region of Canada.
