dec 29, 1963 - The ballot speech
Description:
This speech was written and performed by a civil rights activist by the name of Malcolm X. Malcolm considered himself friends and a fellow activist with Martin Luther King but he disagreed with his nonviolent message. Malcolm took a more nationalistic approach which was centered on economic self-sufficiency, racial pride, and separatism. Malcolm’s goal of this speech was to show the African-American’s that were protesting that there needs to be more force in order for the gov to listen to them. In order for them to attain full equality, they might have to take up arms (potentially cause violence).
