Forget the Caribbean: Johnny Depp has been drawn to this horse farm outside of Lexington, Kentucky, not once, but twice. But it seems Edward Scissorhands is finally ready to cut ties with the beautiful 41-acre estate. After hitting the market for $2.9 million in December, Johnny Depp's property will be auctioned off on September 15 by Halfhill Auction Group (no word on the reserve price).
The first time the star purchased the property was in 1995. He paid $950,000 before turning around and selling it for $1 million in 2001, according to People. Four years later, Depp bought it again for $2 million. Most recently, it reportedly served as a home for his mother, Betty Sue, who passed away in May 2016.
The actor was famously close with his mother. He wears a tattoo of her name on his arm and brought her to movie premieres as well as the Academy Awards the first time he was nominated, in 2004.
Located at 5493 Versailles Road, the estate includes two horse barns, paddocks, a four-car garage, a guest house, and manager's quarters. The beautiful 5,944-square-foot main house contains 6 bedrooms and 6.5 baths.
Oh, and there's also a pool and sunroom.
But of course, the gorgeous grounds are the real reason we're drooling over this celebrity home.
