Description:
-cut the duty on foreign molasses from 6 to 3 pence per gallon
-retained a high duty on foreign refined sugar
-prohibited the importation of all foreign rum
-strengthened the measures taken to ensure colonists would pay what they owed
-violators were to be arrested and tried in a vice-admiralty courts (single judge made a verdict w/o the opinion of a jury)
-this part of the act, suggested to the colonists that the Parliament was overstepping its authority and violating their rights as Englishmen
