Description:
George Patton leads troops into France to liberate it from 4 years of German occupation. The Allies were also able to liberate Belgium and Luxembourg after France. During this same time FDR was elected to a 4th term as president along with Senator Harry S. Truman.
Significance - The Allies gained even more ground over the Axis powers and could now make stronger pushes to liberate more and more countries from the Axis Powers.
