Description:
Japanese soldiers in the Philippines forced US and Filipino soldier to march for 5 to 10 days with little food, water, and shelter. These walks lasted into the nights and Ally troops would be killed refused to walk or disobeyed in any way. They were then brought to camps where many died of starvation and disease.
Significance - This event shocked Americans and hurt moral and pride of soldiers as they were broken down emotionally and physically.
