-War with America and France
-The Alien Acts increased the requirement to be a citizen from 2 to 14 years, the president allowed immigrants to be deported and arrested
-The Sedition Acts made it illegal for anyone to false or bad writings about the government, which challenged Freedom of Speech and the Press.

They increased the time by a large amount and seems to be harsher on immigrants.
