jan 1, 1665 - Robert Hooke

Description:

Robert Hooke was an English physics that was the first person to apply the word "cell." He also discovered plant cells by finding a honey comb like structure in a thin slice of cork, using a microscope. When he was looking at the cork through a microscope he thought the dead tissues were cell walls and that's how he got the term "cell".
