Description:
Cause (International): spread of communism and socialism from outside influence caused more uprising from political activists.
Effect (International): Public Security Preservation Law passed which required Special Higher Police to ban expression of socialism, communism and any anti-capitalist sentiment for the next 15 years
Cause (Domestic): considerable social and political unrest in Japan led to Japanese Imperial Army detaining and arresting political activists they believed were radicals, relationship between the military and the emperor began to shift, more uprisings by political activists.
Effect (Domestic): beginning of transition of power from emperor to prime minister, threatened up to 10 years imprisonment for anyone attempting to alter the rule by the emperor and imperial government, severely curtailed individual freedom in Japan and attempted to eliminate any public dissent.
