Description:

This man is the most known for his influence as the adviser of the family of Emperor Nicholas II. After failing to become a monk, he ended up in St. Petersburg because he claimed that he could heal the son of Nicholas II from hemophilia, so Rasputin went to help. In 1905, he meet the royal family of Russia. On September 5, 1915, Nicholas II went to lead the Russian army in World War I, Nicholas’ wife, Alexandra was left to control the country’s internal problems. Grateful for Rasputin’s help with her son, he quickly became her adviser. To the people, it was seen that Rasputin, a mystical healer, was leading the country. This angered the people even more and led to more desire for change. Eventually, nobles decided to kill Rasputin on December 29, 1916 by inviting him to a dinner party, poisoning him, shooting him, and throwing him in a river. The day that Nicholas II went off to war was the day where Rasputin began to influence decisions made in Russia. This is when he began to have more control over the nation, for Alexandra trusted him completely. This is when the people began to get angry at him and is one of the reasons that the people began to want a revolution.
