feb 21, 1848 - Karl Marx

Description:

Karl Marx was considered the “Father of Communism.” He came up with several ideas including the ideas of communism and the communist system. His ideas included the idea of collective ownership of everything. This meant that no one separately owned something and that all resources produced in society belonged to everyone. These resources would be distributed according to one’s need for such resources. Everyone’s work would contribute to the society. Nationalization would occur where the government would now own businesses and use the profits of these businesses to provide for all of the people. Karl Marx also thought of ideas that described how the world would go through phases of society including fascism, capitalism, socialism, and communism. Finally, Karl Marx believed that a revolution of the working class was necessary to overthrow the wealthy class and start communism. He met his lifelong friend Friedrich Engles who had very similar ideas to his. His friend would help him public the Communist Manifesto, one of the things Marx is most known for. Marx's ideas influenced many future leaders of the Russian revolution including Stalin and Lenin. His ideas influenced many more people who weren't all in Russia. Karl Marx came up with these ideas because of where he lived, who he met, and his childhood. He is probably most known for writing The Communist Manifesto which would influence the Russian revolution in the future.
