Description:

In 1892 the Northwest territories passed legislations to remove French as an official language. The law ended the government support for the french education after grade 3. In 1905 Alberta and Saskatchewan were created as provinces out of the lower parts of the North- West territories. These 2 provinces wanted to continue the teaching of the french language.
