Description:
The bigger disagreement was which kind of legal system to establish. One side wanted to keep the existing state's system, while the other want to have a uniform legal system. The act establishes the federal court system. The cabinet allowed the states to keep their own laws, but the federal court got a final say and could reverse a state's decision. George Washington appointed John Jays lead of the court, the senate approved of the nonmination.
