jan 1, 1100 - Aquitainian Polyphony

Description:

In Southwest France, Aquitanian Polyphony was apparent and there were two voices. The tenor line was referred to the lower voice. Both of the voices sang words. There were two styles of the Organum: Discant and Florid. Discant parts moved at the same rate. Florid moves at different rates where the lower voice moves slower than the upper voice.
