this huge act was done in 1606 overnight basically as James designed for his new kingdom to be secure and at peace with Europe. also, this new idea of a kingdom was great for james as he could give himself absolute authority in this new kingdom. James created 3 new rules
-that he would be crowned king for great Britain , France and Ireland
-that the new currency for the United countries would be called 'unite'
-that all Scottish and English ships wore the new flag around.
