(Term 3) The Continental army, led by Daniel Morgan, defeated the British, led by Charles Cornwallis, using several clever strategies to make up for their apparent lack in numbers and arms. By the end, 110 British were killed and 220 were wounded, while only 12 Americans were killed with 60 wounded.
1. This victory was a big turning point in the war for the Americans.
2. Because of Morgan's great success, more men began joining the Continental army.
3. Significantly slowed the British efforts to take over North Carolina.
4. Prepared the way for the Battle of Yorktown, which ended the war.
