jan 1, 1947 - The Hollywood Ten
Description:
The House of Un-American Activities Committee, or HUAC conducted hearings on those in the film industry, that were accused of communistic infiltration. While many people cooperated, others now known as the famous 'Hollywood Ten' were jailed for refusing to answer the questions. Many others in the film industry were blacklisted, and unable to work in their profession again. This spurred on the 'Red Scare,' and caused greater support for the anti-communism cause and the Cold War, as this event was widely publicized.
