Description:

This was a defense treaty between the Soviet Union and seven other central and eastern European countries. Mainly this was just a way of opposing NATO and showing them that they could also unify their militaries together. This was a major event during the Cold War, as it showed the the Soviet Union had many allies that could be relied upon. In the following years, the supplies and military power of NATO and Warsaw Pact countries would be continuously compared.
