mar 24, 1947 - Loyalty-Security Program Passed
Description:
This was an executive order passed by Truman that permitted officials to investigate any employee of the federal government for any suspicious or politically undermining activities. This was primarily meant to apply to individuals who meant harm towards the United States, but the wording was vague enough to where almost anything could be used in an accusation towards you. This was significant in heightening the tension and distrust among American citizens.
