Description:
This was the largest of ancient councils and consisted of approximately 500-600 bishops. The council put Dioscorus on trial, read the minutes of the robber synod, and Flavian and others who believed in 2 natures were declared orthodox. There were four major aspects of Chalcedon: dogmatic, conciliar, monastic, and constitutional.
