jan 1, 1930 - Coal Miners Act

Description:

This was put in place to reduce bitterness left from the general strike. The miners hours were reduced to 71/2 hours from 8. They were entitled to a fixed minimum wage and production quotas and a commission was set up to consider how unprofitable mines could be phased out with least damage to the miners livelihoods.
