Czar Alexander III dies after a sudden illness and his son, Nicholas II, becomes the ruler of Russia. Nicholas was the ruler in that unleashed the troops on unarmed marchers on the famous Bloody Sunday. He lost the war with Japan and overall showed that Russia was weak.
